| African Honeymoon: when one hears these two words, the mind conjures up images of deep red and violet sunsets, balmy night air filled with countless sparkling stars and of course, the romance of being with your loved one in tranquility and seclusion. We have launched a new Honeymoon Division to ensure that these mental pictures become photographs in your honeymoon album. |
| From luxurious Big 5 safari getaways, Cape escapes and desert seclusion to private island romance, we have ensured that many past honeymooners have had honeymoon memories to last their joined lifetimes. | |
| Africa has so much to offer in terms of history and cultural experiences, fantastic weather, outstanding cuisine, warm African hospitality and of course 5 star luxury throughout, we believe one would be hard pressed to find a better destination for such a special time in the life of a young couple. |
| With experience in tailor-making many honeymoon trips for clients from the USA, the UK and Europe honeymooning in Southern Africa, East Africa and the Indian Ocean islands, we are so pleased to have received amazing feedback about the fantastic and unforgettable times these couples experienced in Africa. And with this many referrals, we are more than confident that we will continue to make future honeymoons just as special. We look forward to assisting in planning your honeymoon to Africa! | | | | | | | | | | | April |
| The annual floods in the Okavango Delta, Botswana peak in the dry season, which begins in April and continues until October. During this period, the water levels are at their highest, forcing animal concentrations to the islands in the delta. The Okavango Delta is one of the world’s largest inland deltas. |
| This is also a great time of year to visit the Okavango as there is virtually no rain and thus no mosquitos. Visitors at this time of year can expect to see many species of Antelope and large herds of Buffalo, Elephants, Zebra and Wildebeest. These attract larger predators such as Lions, Leopards and Wild Dogs, which are also frequently seen. Numerous species of fish, including Bream and Tigerfish, are found in the waters of the delta. |
| The Okavango’s plantlife is as breathtaking as its wildlife with tall palm trees gracing the islands and reeds and papyrus lining the channels in the delta. Enjoy this rich biodome by air to gain perspective of the vastness of the great waterways and scattered islands and by traditional dugout canoe, or Mokoro, to meander through these waterways and view wildlife and plantlife up close. | | | | | | | | | May |
| Namibia is a country of great variety and vast landscapes. Take a hot air balloon ride over the auburn dunes of Sossusvlei surrounding the Namib Desert or visit the rich ecosystems of Etosha National Park that are brimming with wildlife and experience some of the best wildlife-viewing on offer (Namibia is home to the largest population of cheetahs in the world). |
| Adrenalin junkies will love Swakopmund’s extreme activities and explorers the eerily romantic ragged landscape of the Skeleton Coast where the South Atlantic Sea calls in the bones of whales and seals from the bygone whaling era and shipwrecks are scattered along the beach along with seal colonies, scouring brown hyenas and unique flora and fauna. With the heavy rains in March well over, May is a wonderful month in which to visit Namibia as the days are warm, dry and sunny and the evenings cooler and the landscape is green and lush. | | | | | | | | | June |
| In June, the Sardine run, which occurs off the East Coast of South Africa, is in full swing and arrives off the South coast of Kwa Zulu Natal. This unique and unexplained natural phenomenon, visible from satellites, takes place each year as millions of sardines swim North from the cooler waters of the Cape, hugging the shoreline to the warmer waters of the East Coast, and provides a rare opportunity to view nature at its most incredible. |
| Many millions of silvery sardines swim in large swirls, attracting a number of predators including a variety of sharks and dolphins as well as many birds, resulting in a feeding frenzy of epic proportions. The adventurous can dive or snorkel with these silvery shoals and marvel at their larger predators while they feed right before their eyes. | | | | | | | | | July |
| Each year around 1.5 million wildebeest and 300,000 zebra (along with other antelope) gather up their young and start their long trek from Tanzania's Serengeti Plains further north to Kenya's Masai Mara National Reserve in search of food and water. This circular journey covers some 1800 miles in total. It is a grueling journey, and each year fatalities due to exhaustion, hunger and predators leave behind many. One of the most dramatic chapters of migration occurs from July to September when the herds gather to cross the Grumeti River in Tanzania and the Mara River in Kenya where crocodiles wait patiently for their prey, mostly young. However, the river crossings are not the only highlights of The Great Migration, known to be the world’s longest and largest overland migration. |
| Viewing hundreds of animals grazing the plains is a spectacle in itself, particularly as it attracts numerous large predators such as Lions, Leopards, Hyena and Wild Dog who are also in search of food. This natural phenomenon, often referred to as “the greatest wildlife show on Earth”, is not to be missed for those who wish to capture the essence of the African Safari. | | | | | | Contact Details |
